I was with you when you were born on the 19 August 1997.   You were the biggest in the litter and from the moment I saw you, I knew you'd be mine. When I brought you home and we cuddled up on the sofa tears were streaming down my face, with the sheer delight of finally having my very own dog.  We've had such great adventures together, you and I.  With Dog Shows and Agility, you were always full of energy and mischief, which I loved.  With your BIG personality and charm you won over many hearts, not just mine.  Hours we walked together, you and I and in the summer you used to swim with me.  Lots of fun on the beaches, on the cliff paths and on the common.  You, Bart and Douglas loved digging for rabbits - not that you ever found any.  You loved being out and about and enjoying your life to the full, which you must certainly did.  We've travelled to Jersey and the UK with friends and just "Us",  You were named "squeak" on one trip as you just squeaked the whole journey.  Probably because you weren't sitting next to your Mummy or could see me, as you did love to keep an eye on me.  You hadn't been very well and had lost lots of weight, I didn't take you for any tests because you weren't keen on them so I let you live the last days of your life the way you lived all your life, happy, content and very much loved.  I was with you at the end my very special friend, I will love you forever my very special boy xxx

Bart

02 May 1999 to December 2011

Little Bartie such a loving funny boy who loved everybody ... Sadly he left my care in December 2005 after he and Sebbie kept falling out he went to live with Sue Drinkwater who took great care of him.  I missed him terribly but he settled in very quickly with Sue and was her only dog.  She loved him too bits and Bart never went without anything.  Now at Rainbow Bridge with Sebbie where they have patched things up and are the best of friends ..................

Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here,
that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.

There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor;
those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again,
just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.

The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing;
they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance.
His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group,
 flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion,
never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head,
and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....
