Wow what a first year Marvin & I have had - he has really showed his socks off this year and the results below prove that. We look forward to catching up with our friends at Crufts ............

17 December 2006 - The Guernsey Kennel Club Super Match - Judge Mrs R Le Messurier - Marvin "Shenmore Spruce at Derrindee" - 1st Special Yearling and Best Yearling in Match.

28 November 2006 critique received from Mr DT Hodgkinson. Marvin "Shenmore Spruce at Derrindee" - Good head and expression, well angulated front and rear, good topline leading to well set tail, moved with style in the merry cocker way. Douglas "Kyna Charlie Brown at Derrindee" - Sound honest dog, pleasing head and eye, good front and shoulders, well bodied, moved OK

25 November 2006 critique received from Mr Alf Wood "Marada". Marvin "Shenmore Spruce at Derrindee" - Light blue dog, lovely head, soft expression, good layback of shoulder, short cobby body, good legs and feet, moved true driving from hocks.

12 November 2006 - The Guernsey Kennel Club Super Match - Judge Miss Marie-Claire Hannigan - Marvin "Shenmore Spruce at Derrindee" - 1st Junior Dog, Best Junior in Match for the third consequtive Match running and he was also Reserve Best in Match beaten by the lovely Luca. 29 October 2006 - The Guernsey Kennel Club Winter Open Show - Judge Mr DT Hodgkinson - Marvin "Shenmore Spruce at Derrindee" - 1st Graduate Dog/Bitch, Best of Breed, Gundog Group 4 and Best AV Gundog Junior. Marvin really showed his socks off today. I was absolutely thrilled with his Group 4 placing as he was the youngest dog in the line up. Photo below taken by Bill Moores shows just how proud I am of Marvin. Douglas "Kyna Charlie Brown at Derrindee" - 1st Open Dog and 3rd AV Open Gundog. Douglas really enjoyed his day today and went around the ring with his tail wagging and generally being very happy. Lets hope this continues :-)

22 October 2006 - The Guernsey Kennel Club Match - Judge Mrs Lynn Ozanne "Lyntonridge Spaniels" - Marvin "Shenmore Spruce at Derrindee" - 1st Junior Dog and Best Junior in Match. Picture below shows Marvin, Lynn and myself with his lovely pink rosette.

03 September 2006 - The Guernsey Kennel Club Autumn Open Show - Judge Mr Alf Wood "Marada" - Marvin "Shenmore Spruce at Derrindee" - 1st Novice Dog/Bitch, Best of Breed, Gundog Group 3 and Best AV Gundog Junior. Marvin was an absolute star today and really showed his socks off. This was his first Best of Breed and adult Group Placing so I was very pleased. Thanks to the Judge Mr Alf Wood. Douglas "Kyna Charlie Brown at Derrindee" - 1st Open Dog and 2nd AV Open Gundog. Douglas did well today without stopping so fingers crossed this continues. Picture below shows Marvin with the trophies that he won at the show.

01 September 2006 - Critiques as printed in Our Dogs from Mrs E A Macdonald. Kennel Club of Jersey Championship Show - 05 August 2006 - L.(3). 1. De Carteret’s Shenmore Spruce at Derrindee. Young blue roan dog with a lovely head, good square muzzle and well set ears of good length. Good neck, shoulder and topline. Compact in build and with a good spring of rib and short loin. Moved well. OD.(2). 1. De Carteret's Kyna Charlie Brown at Derrindee. Blue roan of good proportions with a typical head, neck of good length, good topline and well angulated rear with low hocks. Moved OK in profile just a bit wide coming towards me.

27 August 2006 - The Guernsey Kennel Club Match - Judge Mrs Bobbi Lawrence - Marvin "Shenmore Spruce at Derrindee" - 1st Junior Dog and Best Junior in Match. Picture below shows Marvin with his lovely pink rosette.

05 August 2006 - The Kennel Club of Jersey Championship Show - Judge Mrs A MacDonald - Marvin "Shenmore Spruce at Derrindee" - 1st Limit Dog and 2nd AV Junior Gundog. Douglas "Kyna Charlie Brown at Derrindee" - 1st Open Dog and 1st AV Open Dog Gundog.

16 July 2006 - The Cocker Spaniel Club Championship Show - Judge Mrs S Platt "Charbonnel" - Marvin "Shenmore Spruce at Derrindee" - 3rd (7) Any Other Colour Novice and 4th (11) Junior Dog. I handled Marvin today and he really showed well and had some lovely comments made about him. Picture below taken by Jane Simmonds at the Cocker Club Show.

14 July 2006 - Paignton Championship Dog Show - Judge Mrs J Richards - Marvin "Shenmore Spruce at Derrindee" - 4th Junior Dog. Marvin was handled today by his Breeder Andrew Jones this was a very tough class with all 13 entries being present so they did very well getting this placing. Pictures below.

09 July 2006 - Critique received from Mr H Richards "Sheridel Newfoundlands" Guernsey Kennel Club Spring Open Show 21 May 2006 - P.(2). 1. De Carteret’s Shenmore Spruce - 11month male who shows considerable promise. Confident and happy. Excellent feet and good angulation. Moved very well. Just at the in between stage at the moment.

21 May 2006 - The Guernsey Kennel Club Open Show - Judge Mr D Sheridan "Sheridel Newfoundlands" - Marvin "Shenmore Spruce at Derrindee" - 1st Cocker Spaniel Puppy, Best Cocker Spaniel Puppy, Gundog Puppy Group 1 and 4th Best Puppy in Show. This was Marvin's last local Show as a puppy and he really has done us proud. Douglas "Kyna Charlie Brown at Derrindee" - 2nd Cocker Spaniel Open Dog and 4th AV Open Gundog. Douglas didn't do his best today we are working hard with him to hopefully get him out of this frustrating period !!

06 May 2006 - The Kennel Club of Jersey Championship Show - Judge Mr Bob Brampton - Marvin "Shenmore Spruce at Derrindee" - 1st Cocker Spaniel Puppy, Best Cocker Spaniel Puppy, Gundog Puppy Group 2 and 2nd AV Gundog Puppy. Douglas "Kyna Charlie Brown at Derrindee" - 1st Cocker Spaniel Open Dog, Reserve Best of Breed and 3rd AV Open Gundog.

26 March 2006 - The Kennel Club of Jersey Championship Show - Judge Mrs Rose-Marie Cabion (South Africa) - Marvin "Shenmore Spruce at Derrindee" - 1st Cocker Spaniel Puppy, Best Cocker Spaniel Puppy, 1st AV Gundog Puppy and Gundog Puppy Group (Crufts 2007 qualification !!!!) The rosette shown below is what Mrs Cabion brough over specially from South Africa for her Group Winners. I was thrilled to receive this wonderful rosette and it will be very greatly treasured. Thank You Mrs Cabion !!! The picture below shows Mrs Cabion, Marvin and I with his rosette and Gundog Puppy Group trophy. Marvin finished the day by winning 5th Best Puppy in Show under BIS Judge Mr R Irving. This was only his second Show and he really showed well and thoroughly enjoyed his day !!! Douglas "Kyna Charlie Brown at Derrindee" - 1st Cocker Spaniel Open Dog, Reserve Best of Breed and 2nd AV Open Gundog.

23 February 2006 - Critiques received from Mr M Pooley - Guernsey Kennel Club Members Show 12 February 2006 - P.(1). 1. De Carteret’s Shenmore Spruce, Cracking dog of 8 months. Has everything you look for in a youngster. Head developing well, lovely expression, super angulation, depth, real quality throughout. Moved very well. BP, PG1 & BPIS 5.

OD.(2). 1. De Carteret’s Kyna Charlie Brown At Derrindee, quality balanced dog of 4 years, 4 months, has improved vastly since I last judged him. Has excellent conformation throughout with movement to match. Really good example of the breed. BOB & G4

12 February 2006 - Guernsey Kennel Club Members Show - Judge Mr M Pooley - Marvin "Shenmore Spruce at Derrindee" - 1st Cocker Spaniel Puppy, Best Cocker Spaniel Puppy, Gundog Puppy Group and 1st AV Minor Gundog Puppy. Marvin finished the day by winning 5th Best Puppy in Show. This was his very first Show and he really did well and took everything in his stride. Douglas "Kyna Charlie Brown at Derrindee" - 1st Cocker Spaniel Open Dog, Best of Breed, Gundog Group 4 and 2nd AV Open Gundog. Douglas really enjoyed his day at the Show.
